My Friend Josie
I had the most wonderful time this weekend indulging in some serious girlfriend-time--something I haven't really gotten to do for a long time. I was lucky enough to have my friend Josie put up with my menagerie and stay with me for a couple of nights. She left this morning and I miss her already. It was her birthday yesterday and we had the most fun day. We took a road-day trip and explored antique shops in my dear friend Marissa's neck of the woods, we indulged our senses at my favorite luxury grocery store where we enjoyed the yummiest bakery pretzel and blt cream cheese spread, we checked out the latest craft books at one of my favorite luxury bookstores, we laughed as we got lost in a bad part of town, we enjoyed fine wine, fine food and shared a few secrets.
Here are just a few of the reasons I love Josie:
- She is not a germaphobe
- There is very little she is afraid of
- She loves good food!
- Her sense of humor is cynical and witty
- She has better manners and a sense of basic courtesy of others that is almost a unique quality these days
- She stands up for herself, but not at the expense of others
I hope you had a Happy Birthday, Josie--thanks for letting me celebrate it with you! xo, Tonia
