Staycation I

I am a big fan of taking time off just to stay home, and the economy has nothing to do with it. It's just really nice to be able to do all of things you dream of doing during a typical work week that you can't. Things like sleeping for as long as you like (which for me rarely goes past 7:00), exercising whenever you like, wearing comfy clothes, feeling at ease with taking your time making things in your studio, blah, blah, blah. It's nice. Here is just a little slice of how it's gone so far.

Tomorrow I may tackle making some cards, or I might make gingersnap truffles, I may take a nap, I may not, I might watch some Heroes online, who knows? It's great not having to have a plan.

I was listening to this today as I created crafty goodness, along with other favorites. I just love this song and never tire of it--must be my Gaelic heritage; drinking songs just hold a special place in my heart. LOL More on what I've been craftin' soon . . .

Heart-it-Forward XII

So . . .I was bitten smitten by Edward once again as I started reading Midnight Sun this weekend. Hence, this second Twilight inspired bracelet. I was also inspired by drinking my favorite roast, Verona on Saturday morning and desided to do a tribute to her by making this heart choker from the mylar bag the beans came in. And yes--that means there are TWO HIF offerings this time around! The first person to comment gets first pick and the second gets the left-over. Of course, both commenters agree to continue in spirit and offer HIFs on their own blogs (in a timely manner). Now back to Forks . . .

Crushed

Last week I was browsing Cost Plus World Market during my lunch break, looking for inspiration when I came upon some very pretty minature glass ornaments. Being the holiday spirit (which starts just after Halloween for me) I was immediately excited about these as I knew they'd look beautiful, crushed up and sealed inside of a plexi vessel.

The frosted-ness comes from pearl ink and a secret message was written on the flat piece that goes to the back of the pendant. I love how this piece feels so "wintery magical" and I'm looking forward to wearing it close to my heart.

Speaking of the heart, I'm not positive, but I think a new HIF might be in the very near future . . .
