I went outside this morning to let the pups out and noticed how pretty the grasses up against the house looked, encased in ice, so I went back in to get my camera. I don't think the photos I took really did the beauty of ice justice, but it provided inspiration for a fun project today. I was reminded of the saying, "Cold hands, warm heart" and things just sort of evolved from there. My original intention was just to make this pendant for myself, but what fun is that? As I was working on it, I had this idea.
Let's call my wacky idea "heart-it-forward" modeled, of course, after the more familiar concept of "pay-it-forward." I have no idea if anyone will want to play along with this or not, but here goes. The first person to comment on this post (or at least the first person to indicate they'd like to play) will be the recipient of the pendant you see here, which I made today. The catch is, that if you agree to receive this, you promise to then create something yourself, from the heart, that you will then offer to the first commenter on your blog, after explaining the "rules" in a post of your own. What you make with the intention of giving away does not have to be jewelry. It can be anything--something sewn, something baked, something written--whatever. Anything that you put the spirit of giving into and a piece of your heart. Okay that's it. I hope your hands and heart stayed warm today.
This is such a great idea! Can we cross borders?
